The Transportation Department plays a critical role in the Reynolds community; we are the link between the student’s home and their classroom. We work in conjunction with the Oregon Department of Education and school leadership to provide safe and reliable transportation for all of the students in our care.

Bus Routes: My Ride K-12

  • See bus stop locations and scheduled times
  • Track route information in real time: The time displayed in the app will update based on traffic and other delays to reflect the actual time of arrival of the bus.
  • Be alerted to route delays: The app automatically tracks and updates the bus's estimated time of arrival as it moves along its route.  If your child's bus is delayed, the Reynolds Transportation Department will use the app to send a notification to parents/guardians.

    1. Bus stop locations may change each year based on the student population and changing safety issues.  The Oregon Department of Education requires that school districts provide transportation for all students who reside more than one mile from school for elementary students and one and a half miles from school for middle and high school students.  The Transportation Department will develop and maintain a supplemental transportation plan to address students who reside within the walk area but who may not have a safe path to walk to school.  All other transportation to and from school must be considered carefully before being implemented.
    2. Safety is the overriding factor in choosing routes and bus stops.  Factors such as traffic congestion, speed of traffic, sight distance, and, when possible, that stops are distributed as evenly as possible throughout the attendance area, are taken into consideration when selecting bus stop locations.  Narrow or otherwise unsafe streets are not selected if possible.  Bus stops are collector points in the neighborhood.  Bus stops are located in such a way to centrally serve greater community areas versus in front of an individual student’s home.
    3. Some bus stops will be located where students cannot be seen from the home.  If this is a concern, the parent/guardian will need to make arrangements to have their child supervised going to and from the stop.
    4. The bus stop as an extension of the school grounds and all school district policies (i.e. bus discipline, bullying, harassment, weapons, tobacco, etc.) will be enforced at the bus stop.
    5. If the safety of an existing bus stop is of concern the procedure for requesting a review to add a bus stop and/or a change of a bus stop’s location will be:
      1. Contact the Transportation Department via web form (or by phone for those without web access), providing the location of the current bus stop and the reason(s) the current bus stop is unsafe.
      2. The request will be reviewed by the Transportation Department safety committee at their next scheduled meeting.  A safety team member will be assigned to investigate the bus stop and determine whether the stop meets the District’s safety criteria.
      3. The original requestor will be contacted by the Transportation Department to notify them of the decision.
      4. All new bus stops must also be approved by the District’s Executive Director of Business Services.
    6. Safety criteria considered when adding or changing a bus stop:
      1. Safe walk paths.
      2. Visibility of students to traffic.
      3. Lighting.
      4. Within one or one and a half mile walking distance.
